Mending A Broken Heart
Last year, the Cardiology and the Orthopedics department of the Regenerative Medicine Center Utrecht jointly succeeded in the making of a functional 3D-printed cardiac patch – a plaster to mend a broken heart.
The original research article can be found in Advanced Functional Materials. Right after publication, the work of the team around Dr. Miguel Dias Castilho and Dr. Alain van Mil has caught media attention – and now it is back again. With good reason!
